Summer Solstice, It's a beautiful day to make a magickal intention jar

Today, June 21, is Litha or Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, a time when the Sun stands still enough for us to draw down it's energy and manifest our intentions into the material world. Litha is the longest day of the year and an excellent time to create an intention jar that can be fueled by the sun's majestic rays.

Here is what you will need to set your wishes into motion and celebrate Summer Solstice:
  • A small clean jar
  • 3 Bay leaves for protection, psychic power, divination, success, money and wish magic.
  • 3 crystals that represent the energy for your intentions. Example: rose Quartz for love,Citrine for business, Amethyst for healing and psychic development, ,etc.  The choice is up to you.  See what energy resonates to your intentions.
  • 1 Clear Quarts crystal, to amplify the energy of the jar
  • Some spring water, for purity
  • 3 teaspoons of sugar, to sweeten your intentions
  • 3 shots of Rum, since it attracts favors
  • A piece of red ribbon or string. It represents the Element of Fire, for the Sun. It is the color of Alchemy, and the magickal arts and sciences of transformation. Red is a power color. It is associated with the 1st (Root) Chakra that connects us to the physical world. Red is for stability, grounding, prosperity and physical health.
Meditate and be clear about your intentions.  Keep harmful thoughts away from this process and only put out thoughts for your highest good.  Take a pen or marker and write your wishes/intentions on the bay leaves.

Place the Bay leaves into the jar along with the 3 crystals of your choice and the piece of Clear Quartz to amplify your intentions. Sprinkle the sugar into the jar and fill it half way with the spring water. Pour the rum into the jar and put the lid on. Tie the piece of Red ribbon or string around the jar and you will be good to go.

Place both of your hands on the jar and state your intentions.  Turn the jar in a clockwise direction 7 times (7 is a manifesting number) while repeating your wishes over and over again.
Take the jar and place it outside in a sunny spot, preferably in a garden since it signifies a place where things grow.  If you live in the city and don't have a garden then a sunny window near a plant will also be fine.

If you choose to do so, you can sprinkle sun Rum around your garden to attract help from the spirit world and no one likes to drink alone so why not have a shot of Rum for yourself to toast the Summer Solstice and celebrate the magick of the longest day of the year.
